New Renter’s checklist

  1. Drive by the property and check it out from the outside.
  2. Review your budget. Make sure to factor in utilities and other expenses. Only the utility companies can provide you with a monthly estimate for each property.
  3. Make an appointment with Austin, at least 24 hours in advance, to view the property. If you like the unit, turn in an application along with a $20 application fee, only 1 fee is required per group of prospective tenants.
  4. If you are approved, pay your security deposit and first month’s rent, turn in co-signer forms (one form per tenant, if applicable) and sign your lease, only one lease is expected per group of tenants.
  5. You will get keys to your leased property on the first day of your lease. Also, we will arrange a time to walk through the house to fill out the property inspection check in sheet. (The same property inspection will occur at the end of the lease, too.)
